Passion Projects (Day 1)

Passion Projects Day 1

Today we just started out a multi-day project called Passion Projects. In Passion Projects, Hornby High Students are asked to select a project based on their passions, which includes: Outdoor education, Music, Maths, and countless others. I have been put under Math Crafts, and in it, I learned about how to make Mobius strips and Menger sponges.

Mobius Strips
-Mobius strips are strips of paper that using maths, can be turned into various creations. This is done by adding loops to paper and cutting along sides or the middle to create additional rings attached to the original.

Menger Sponges
-A Menger sponge is not literally a sponge normally speaking, it looks like a sponge and is made up of cubes that have been slowly cut and divided smaller and smaller, with holes.

  1. Hi Cameron
This is a fabulous blog post! Well done on your explanations of these maths craft projects along with great photo examples. Did you encounter any challenges producing the mobius strips or menger sponge?
