Passion Projects (Day 2)

Passion Projects (Day 2)

Moving on from Monday's tasks, we moved on to making hexahexaflexagons (a tough word to pronounce) to making Sonobe cubes and Sonobe Octahedrons which look mind-boggling! It was definitely more challenging than Monday's tasks, but in return, it was more fun!

Hexahexaflexagons and things alike!
These are cool two-sided shapes that look awesome and actually hide many other various designs when flexed out. Below is an example of a made tetra-tetra-flexagon showing all 4 designs.

Sonobe Origami
Sonobe origami is origami that is made by joining separate pieces into a larger design. This can be made into things like octahedrons and sonobe cubes which are glamorous to look at. Here is an example below of what a sonobe cube looks like.

  1. Hi Cameron
Well done on these awesome, challenging maths craft projects. It is great that you enjoyed the challenge and persevered to complete these. Once again you have explained these projects using fantastic mathematical language which I presume is newly learnt. Keep working hard and enjoying the results.
