10Mn Class Treaty

In our class for Social Studies, we created a class treaty for 10Mn (our class). We have a treaty so that everyone gets treated equally and no violence nor bad language happens while inside of this class. Without this treaty, everyone could easily get out of control so with the rules that we have chosen we create a safer and more positive learning environment.

We all signed this treaty for proof of confirmation from every single person in this class. This shows that we agreed to follow this treaty to the best of our abilities.

How is our class treaty the same as the Treaty of Waitangi?

I would say that a couple of similarities would be that it is both signed by mainly 2 parties (in our case the Teacher and the Students). Also, another reason is that they both decide on something that helps both parties (in our case it helps everyone be respected and comfortable).

How is our class treaty different than the Treaty of Waitangi?

I would say that a few differences would be that Our treaty was signed in the modern day (2018) rather than the Treaty of Waitangi (1840). Another difference would be that our treaty was signed only for a size of 1 class rather than the Treaty of Waitangi which was signed for pretty much the whole of New Zealand.
