10SocialStudies-Atlantic Slave Trade
Over the past week, we have been studying about the slave trade of the Africans to the USA and beyond. I created a map that shows the slave trade triangle and where some African Slaves were shipped to (under the harshest conditions that you could travel by, even some had died!)
This map shows the journey they took and some of the main points in this time of Slave trade. Try teach yourself something you had not known before by visiting my custom map!

10DTE-You've been sitting wrong!
You've been sitting wrong!
Introduction
Over the past week in Digital Tech we have been working on ergonomic infographics and it was a huge challenge! I had to restart half way but I bet it was truly worth all of it! This infographic shows information about correct sitting posture and how to actually use the parts of your seat to your own benefit! I created this infographic using a free-to-use site called canva which is awesome for creating posters and infographics online! Here are some examples of ways for a better posture:
-Legs should bend over the leg just before where your knees are
-Your back should be straight against the seat for proper posture
-Your head can use the headrest (if applicable) to reduce neck strain
Infographic
Here is the ergonomic infographic that I have been working on hope you enjoy it!Reflection
I have enjoyed working on this infographic and it has taught me more than I knew before about correct seating posture and the ergonomic uses of any modern-day chair. I worked hard on presenting it well and making sure that it catches the readers eyes with a WOW factor!

Now that you have read my post what have you learned about ergonomics? Have you truly been sitting correctly all of your life?

10SocialStudies-Working songs
Over the past few days, we have been studying about African slavery in America back a few decades ago. We were given different questions on this topic and is under the section of "working songs". These working songs are songs that the slaves would sing while working to keep themselves entertained and alert. These were typically about what they would be doing in their days and about how life was at that moment.
Below is an example of one of these work songs which has the name of "Song from a cotton field" by Bessie Brown. The 2nd video is a song called "I be so glad... when the sun goes down".
Questions
1.Explain the feeling that you get when you listen to these songs?
I can feel that it is intended to be an entertaining song and has a nice vintage tune to it, but listening to the lyrics I can feel as if I was one of those slaves back then and expressing what their lives would have been like under those horrid circumstances.
2.What kind of information about slavery did you learn from these songs?
I learned that they had been living under heavy watch and punishment. I also learned that they would have had such a simple life because their only source of main entertainment would have been singing these songs.
3.What can you relate to in any of these songs?
I don't really relate to any of these songs but they do give me a sense just as if I had been one of them!!! It also relates to me because I like listening to music because it can relax me.
4.What do you think the slaves are talking about in these songs?
I think they are talking about what their lives were like and how they really did not enjoy doing this work but are singing to try and get into a better mood and keep all of them alert and somewhat entertained.

Science 2018
Science 2018
Cameron, 10Mn
This year in Science I would love to learn all about how chemistry works and why mixing two chemicals together sometimes creates a chemical reaction or even in some cases, a chemical explosion! I would also like to learn about forces and motion and how friction is caused and how gravity is actually generated!

10English-Cameron's Intro
In English I had been given a task to create a piktochart (online poster website) about me. It displays different facts about me and shows the teacher and my class who I truly am! I also tried to add lots of cool photos and I made sure that it is not boring but colourful!

10Social Studies-Poster for HR
Here is a poster that I have created on Human Rights for Social Studies. Out of the 5 highlighted ones I have chosen I would say that Food and shelter for all would be the most needed one. I think this because everyone deserves a safe place to live and have enough supplies of food and water to live. I also chose The right to life because everyone deserves a right to live freely and not be treated as if they don't. Another one I chose was The right to privacy because everyone needs some privacy in life and obviously they won't want to share everything with you! I chose Marriage and Family because everyone deserves their own family and happy social life. Lastly, I chose The right to education because without education you will hardly ever get a good job and you will lack some skills of living a full life.

10Mn Class Treaty
10Mn Class Treaty
In our class for Social Studies, we created a class treaty for 10Mn (our class). We have a treaty so that everyone gets treated equally and no violence nor bad language happens while inside of this class. Without this treaty, everyone could easily get out of control so with the rules that we have chosen we create a safer and more positive learning environment.
We all signed this treaty for proof of confirmation from every single person in this class. This shows that we agreed to follow this treaty to the best of our abilities.

How is our class treaty the same as the Treaty of Waitangi?
I would say that a couple of similarities would be that it is both signed by mainly 2 parties (in our case the Teacher and the Students). Also, another reason is that they both decide on something that helps both parties (in our case it helps everyone be respected and comfortable).
How is our class treaty different than the Treaty of Waitangi?
I would say that a few differences would be that Our treaty was signed in the modern day (2018) rather than the Treaty of Waitangi (1840). Another difference would be that our treaty was signed only for a size of 1 class rather than the Treaty of Waitangi which was signed for pretty much the whole of New Zealand.
