9Art-Word Definitions/Marketing

These are five words to do with art that I need to define in my own words. Some of them are even a bit hard to pronounce!

Words:

Utilitarianism-(To have a purpose)Utilitarianism is the way of saying that it's better to have something that is useful and has purpose in art rather than having something that looks beautiful but has no function in art.

Kantianism-(Acknowledge all views)Kantianism is knowing that every opinion counts in what they think of the artwork. If someone does not like it and someone does you need to listen to both of their ideas rather than only the positive comment or only the negative comment.

Fine Art-(Time-taken Artwork) A form or piece of art that has had hard effort and ideas put into it. Doing this makes a beautiful piece of artwork.

Investment Art-(Artwork worth credit) The artist knowing when to list their artwork and at what financial price.

Decor/Craft Art-(Matching and Copying) Knowing how colours and patterns match and reproducing artworks and paintings.

This is my work on what is a market and four ways you can market art successfully.

What is a Market?
-A market is a place where you can sell, exchange and buy goods. Markets can be accessible online or a physical shop.

4 ways you can market art successfully
-Art can be marketed through online websites by uploading your piece with a valid thumbnail and description of your art. Sellers would most likely get more watchers or views online as the world wide web is growing daily and it is easier for the buyer to access it rather than physically having to walk to a gallery or market. Another way of selling art is through a dealer gallery which is done by displaying your work in a public gallery. Unfortunately the gallery charges you a 30% fee on what you make from the sale because you are displaying it in their gallery. A third way of selling is by setting up a stall in a public market and displaying your artwork there. Do be aware that in markets it is quite common for buyers to negotiate the price so it is quite helpful to raise it up a bit to start with. Lastly another way of selling is by setting up a commercial business and start selling your artwork through that. This is the best way as long as you have enough money to start up a business. These are my four ideas on how to successfully sell your artwork publicly hope it helps.
