10DTE-Our Awesome App For Fortnite!

Our Awesome App For Fortnite!

Introduction

Over the past hard-working weeks, my team and I have finished our app to at least a usable stage and we are now ready to receive feedback and bug reports for it based on the app. We still need to add information and more pictures but the main point of it is out: to give tips for Fortnite: Battle Royale! Our app was made over several weeks and it did take a while to code all those back buttons!

Reflection

We had planned out our app very carefully from the beginning to make sure that this app was easily-accessible for the user and it was! During the process of making this app, I learned important coding in areas such as timing, button layouts and how to add in your own personal pictures and facts. This was a great tool to learn awesome life skills such as coding, picture designs and how to order and organize an app from scratch, literally! The tools that we used included canva (which we used for making pictures) and applab (which we used for making the actual app itself). These were all pretty straightforward.

My team and I have worked great together and being all friends, we worked well without any obstacles and managed to get a working app completed. We each did separate parts in developing this app where I did the coding, Johnny did the Menus and Braxton did the Pictures and Art designs for each page and button. We even spent some of our own time trying to fix issues that we encountered whilst making this app just to make sure that it would be presentable in some way or the other.

The app was completed to a testing stage where we accept all kinds of feedback (sensible of course) to help improve our app to make it even more awesome!
This app has a working menu that has fully functional back buttons and we even managed to make a loading timer at the start that gives this app a premium feel. We added in our own pictures in the background and boy was the coding a challenge! I think that my team worked really well on this app and we worked our hardest to get a working app done in time.

10English-Country Living is good for young people

Country living, one true-to-life experience that you can only experience in New Zealand. I'm sure you've heard of Country music, which has more of a western sound to it, but have you heard of what country living is? Country living is where you live outside of cities and highly-populated areas to areas where there's hardly no wires, wifi, warmth, and workplaces! What a wacky and wild world! Some people just prefer this as you get to experience more time out (or rather in) with the exquisite environment and your welcoming whanau. For young people, I reckon it's worth giving it a good go to drop down those devices and get out into the country! Going out in the country will give young people experience that they otherwise would not have got if they did not spend their luxurious time at home to go out into the wacky country. Being out in the country will tighten your bond with those that you love as nothing will get in your way of spending time together... literally. Being out in the country does have some negative effects though, but what doesn't? There is less public experience being out in the deserted area, and you won't exactly have many opportunities for what jobs you can choose. Also, there are limited people, places, and resources out in the country so I would recommend bringing some playing cards, or a bit more just in case it isn't up to your daily standards. I think that yes, young people should give it a go maybe just as a holiday, but living like this is truly a personal choice, go out to the country!

10Music-Poster on Lorde

10Music-Performance Evaluation

The song that we chose was "How Far I'll Go" from the Disney movie Moana

Were you happy with your performance? Why? Yes, I was happy with the performance that we did as a group as we all put all our effort and training into it to make sure that we play it with a wow factor to this well-known piece.

How did you feel performing in front of an audience? I felt casual playing to an audience as this is what I am used to being a learning pianist. I have performed a couple of times in various assemblies which help build up my confidence performing every time.

What was your final grade and were you happy with it? My group received an Excellence for our performance which I was pleased with as all that time and effort led up to this and we did try and aim to reach that golden excellence mark.

How could you have improved your performance? I think that we could have improved our performance by practicing slightly more to make sure that our two melody players could be in perfect sync, not that it wasn't close!

10English-Success in sport is all about winning

Sport is pretty sportacular and winning can give you a kick of adrenaline that is great for a sense of achievement, but winning is not all that matters during a sports match. If your goal is to win it gives you a great glorious goal to go generously for so that you can give the game you're all. Also, choosing to succeed in the sport by winning can help you have a sense of pride for your team and boosts your teams name up through the ranks as fast as a cheetah can. But pride can lead into a bad corner, you can and will end up getting to over-confident that you may start breaking rules and injuring players within a blink of an eye, or you may deteriorate your health as you over-work yourself during friendly matches. Always going for a goal may lead to a loss of fun during the game and you may notice your body and brain giving up on it, sport is MEANT to be fun! If you go to hard to get the goal, you will eventually lose the goal of sport, to be fun. Going for a victory is good for a goal in your season but remember, you probably won't end up winning a game, well unless you're a cheetah that is!

10English-An increase in immigration numbers would be good for New Zealand

Look at all the races in our streets, how warm you feel when you see various races mingling with each other. Isn't this what we want to see and feel every single day of our undiscovered lives? Immigrants have hugely been coming to and from our open-minded country for the past few decades and this will probably never stop, well for New Zealand's sake anyway (cough, cough Trump). Immigrants make up approximately a quarter of the entire population of New Zealand and continue to rise up every day as commercial planes and boats welcome our new family and friends to this inter-racial country. Sadly, there is a rather low of having too many immigrants in New Zealand. To start off, dangerous driving has been imminent in nearly every major highway as people who come from overseas don't exactly see our rules the way hey would in their countries and sometimes this can end up costing them dearly, if not their lives. We've also been spending tyre-less hours trying to improve our roads for immigration's sake. Another problem that occurs with having too many immigrants would be that immigrants do take up some of our fellow kiwi's jobs and without kiwi's having jobs, the New Zealand economy isn't exactly a "New Zealand" owned export anymore. Another point that sad for the immigrants is that some are treated unfairly under working circumstances. E.g. An immigrant male may work for 2 years under a low-payed contract where a Kiwi may work for as little or long as they like and get paid the right amount of money, this is not fair. Moving on from the negative points, there are some obvious positive points such as we get to experience multi-cultural sharing with other races and we can make friends with these people to get to know their cultures more. Having more immigrants means that we have more workers in our community and after the Canterbury earthquakes, we definitely do need more builders! Immigrants are great so there is no reason why we should limit the number of immigrants we have! Sharing is Caring!

10English-The all Blacks are good role models for our children and teenager

The All blacks are the best rugby team in the world, and that's a fact. But do they carry out their glory oast the playing field onto the streets we know as home? The All Blacks have done some wonderful things in their lives and have most definitely done some awesome things for our communities such as attending events and just showing up in some of the TV commercials that we watch. They may seem to do good all of the time because they are all blacks, but there are some rather All-Black points that come from them (see what I did there?). They have had some bad incidents in the past, including drug use and drunkenness to assault and speeding which do quiver their reputation as an All Black. Kids admire these heroes and copy what they do, so we need to look up to the All Blacks as a player, not as their personal life. On the bright side, For most All Blacks we can look up to them as a good person and not just a good player. All All Blacks deserve to be on the team, it just happens so that some of their personal lives mix with their career.

Piktochart on HART (Halt All Racist Tours)

This is my piktochart about HART which was a protesting group throughout the time of Apartheid. This was a New Zealand organization and they were lucky to have John Minto (my form teacher!) to lead them throughout this time. We are currently learning about racial equality and apartheid. This covers Human Rights, Apartheid, White and Black segregation and all the nasty events that had happened in our horrid past. We are learning this so we know all about this racial equality rules and what had happened in our history so we know what has changed and what is still to come. We learned this by watching the movie The Power Of One Which gave us vivid ideas on what apartheid was like for the Black South-Africans. My question that I have is why were the whites and blacks segregated? what if it was the other way round?
